STUDENT COMMUNITY

Here's the place for students to check in or shout out. Post a blog entry, tell a story, make an announcement or find out what's going on. But please, post appropriately.

Exhibitions

An exhibition is a creative way to display and teach all of the things that you have learned during the trimester. It is similar to a final. When doing an exhibition you pick a theme and you tie in what you have learned to the theme. You exhibition has to be “wow worthy” and full of information you must have proof of what you’ve learned. You must explain what you are doing and what you learned in the trimester. It is a good idea to involve the audience, play music and much more for a good exhibition.

My first exhibition wasn’t good I could have done much better. I’ve learned that you have to project your voice have great eye contact and avoid distractions. My body language has improved and I don’t use vocal fillers. One of my biggest challenges was to be organized and prepared. I’ve gotten better each time.

An exhibition is like a reflection of learning for the trimester. You must include all areas of learning, Math, Science, Reading, and Writing. My first year of exhibitions was hard I didn’t understand what was required. My exhibitions were long. Since then I have received the “Best Exhibition Award.”

I’ve learned to present without being nervous and give eye contact. I have my note cards prepared and I always include visual aids. Sometimes I use a PowerPoint Presentation with music to hold the audience attention. I always try to include my audience in some way. There is much more to an exhibition but that would take an exhibition to explain!
